Today's daily prompt by the Daily Post is meaningless and I was inspired to think back to this meeting and other situations in which I or another expressed the type of phrase considered 'wishful thinking'. In the grand scheme of things, it's not just the words themselves that have an impact, it's the tone and intended or inferred meaning as well.
It doesn't start off as a roller coaster. In fact, it creeps up on you, slowly, patiently; branching out inside you, establishing itself and making a home in your very core.
With the subject of immigration being a hot topic both in light of Brexit and Trump’s America, I thought I would take the opportunity to share my experiences as a product of immigration, how it’s affected both my character and my view of the world and the challenges that my friends and I faced while growing up as children of (mainly Portuguese) immigrants.
I, almost halfway through my four-year undergraduate degree, have already experienced all the points in this post to varying degrees, and can almost certainly expect the remaining half to be as turbulent as the first.
